Lyndon PTA Meeting, May 7^th

Meeting Began at 6:42pm

 

All Executive Board Members are present including Marisa Alvarez, Jessica Grande, Michelle Bylsma and Ashley Geraghty

April meeting minutes were approved

 

PTA Goals reviewed

 

PTA reviewed the awards won from Mass PTA including the:
Spotlight on Male Engagement, Literary Award, The Spirit of the PTA Award

CORI check reminder!

Updates on current fundraisers:

• $1,500 Lyndon gear! Online orders will be coming soon!
• S1A – April fundraiser projected earnings: 1,497
• Beautification – painting is underway!
• Outdoor Classroom: 1 EFF was great! Next: May 30^th

Room Parent Update: Teacher + Staff appreciation is underway! Additionally: End of year email on gifts/collection, a survey, Room Parent Co-Chair Opportunity

 

Next Book Fair: May 19 – 23, 2025 – Still looking for volunteers. Thursday will open early + Stay open late for before and after school availability

 

Red Sox game is coming up, it is currently sold out. Tickets will come from the MLB app.

 

Reflections: 5 first place winners, 13 placed winners overall! Hosting the Lyndon Showcase on June 6^th at 6:30 in the auditorium

 

Read for the Record: 10/13/25 book: See Marcus Grow by Marcus Bridgewater + Reggie Brown - 20^thAnniversary!

SSC Update: Next meeting is 5/21 at 5:30pm – 7pm

Eboard + PTA Committees – Looking for 1-year commitments on repeating events + fundraisers.

CPC/ SpEdPAC/ DELAC Updates:

• Opting out kids who haven’t been on the bus for 2 weeks

FOTL Updates: Thank you for a successful auction! Sitting at 15k. Online auctions are still open, closing next week.

• 2 more restaurant nights - $300 Mission on Fire, $200 at West
• Ale House: May 20^th
• Bertucci’s: June 19^th

Treasurer Update:

• PTA Budget Projected Draft
  • NOTES:
  • Book Fair was discussed as potentially shifting away from Scholastic, potentially looking at only running one at book fair.
  • Red Sox game day, first Sunday try
  • STEM Grant – must be in good standing as a PTA
  • NEW: Penny War
  • 3^rd photographer being added to Photo Day
  • Staff Appreciation // Fee Change:
    • Fee might change to Teacher Grants
    • Potentially pulling Room Parent Budget which is over allocated by an estimated $2k
    • Teacher Reimbursement Increase from $150 - $200
      • June 1 Reimbursement deadline
    • Wellness Budget
      • Mass PTA gives out wellness Grants
        • Calm Strips
      • Small cushion going into next
      • We can cover all expenses until the end of the year
      • Treasury Report overall
      • Motion was made to approve Budget, Budget was approved
