PTA Meeting Minutes: Dec 13, 2024

6:30 meeting began – All four board members were in attendance, including community members:

 

School Committee meeting is underway, we have Blanca attending the school committee meeting! Amy Browne is a second-grade teacher, our teach rep.

Housekeeping items were covered.

2024 Parkway Turkey Trot –

Final Numbers:

• Total Runners: 230

• $10,000 and in-kind donations from 37 Business Sponsors

• Total NET Revenue of >$12,000
• Raffle moving to Holiday Concert

 

Turkey Trot Coat Drive – 12 coats were collected. Families are encouraged to make sure kids to dress appropriately for outdoor play during the recess. Underwear, leggings, are needed.

 

Fall Happenings:

Lyndon Gear – new gear coming in the new year

Photo Days – was a success!

Sound Panels will be shipping on Dec 10^th

 

Treasurer Update:

Turkey Trot – 15k

Bake Sale - $2,629

Lyndon Gear - $4,313 with profit of $1,200

In-process – popcorn, community/ retail, squareart, holiday concert

Holiday Concert Raffle is back with many exciting raffles! Concert will be at 10:30!

 

PTA Nominating Committee – looking for 3 members (odd number), responsible for nominating e-board PTA at the 4/2/25 meeting – Candidates include: Kate Anderson, Laura Goodbody, Elle Morocco

 

PTA Committees – we need additional volunteers to help with the events and gatherings. Please consider chairing a committee to help manage the work that keeps our committee going!

 

Locker Clean Up day! Sign up the days, 1/25,2/1, 2/8

 

Lyndon International Day is TBD! But we look forward to having members of our school show up and share their family traditions.

STEM + Families – Date is TBD, typically in the evening. National PTA Sponsored.

This event is in the beginning stages of being planned. We discussed to potentially switching locations for a better experience.

 

SSC – Next meeting is Dec 18^th to discuss the Lyndon Curriculum.
