General Meeting 

Wednesday, April 6, 2022 – 6:30 EDT

Agenda

Welcome, Meeting Overview, Introductions

 

  • Maya welcomed everyone to the meeting. Introduced the interpreters and Dianelle Chaparro, Family Liaison who explained how to access the interpretive services on Zoom. Introduced the PTA executive members and informed that the main focus of the meeting would be the Digital Citizenship meeting by BPS- an overview of internet safety for parents.

 

 

Minutes Approval, Essentials

  • MOTION to approve March meeting minutes was postponed to a later date.  Minutes are usually posted to the PTA website.

Updates Across the Lyndon

PTA

  • PTA Board Elections: Encouraged interest in new board members for the 2022-2023 school year.
  • Square 1 Art: Online submission still possible till Nov 26th. Orders to be given by Nov 26th. Shipping date December 13th. In response to a question, a parent can still download the template and upload their child’s artwork on the Square 1 website.
  • Book Fair: To be held in person April 26-30th. looking for volunteers to help with this. Great excitement about the upcoming book fair after the Covid break.

 

School Site Council (SSC) –  Julie Ma. Updated briefly on 

Citywide Parent Council (CPC) – Sarah Parker:

Friends of the Lyndon (FOTL) – Maya Dias: Upcoming fundraising and community event. Spring Fiesta & Fundraiser on May 5th 2022. Great Raffle and auction prizes to be won. Looking to provide childcare via YMCA.

Outdoor Classroom - Active and engaged with many plans ongoing. Advertised the Community clean up day on Sunday May 1st which is open to all. Help needed to clean up and plant.

Equity Roundtable - Sam Lewis: Working on establishing the family buddy system.



 Fundraising Updates 

  • Lyndon Gear  Maya Dias on behalf of Lee Rushton. Spring Lyndon gear shop has a limited selection of items including tank tops and shorts.

 

Treasurer’s Report- Ed Greenaway

Not done as this was a shortened PTA meeting in order to host the Digital citizenship presentation.

 

Upcoming Events

  • Scholastic Book Fair - April 26-30 2022 in person
  • Community Clean up day- Outdoor Classroom. Sunday May 1st 2022
  • FOTL Spring Fiesta & Fundraiser May 5th 2022
