PTA MEETING MINUTES DECEMBER 2021

General Meeting

• PTA minutes updates
• MOTION to approve November 2021 minutes, seconded and passed.

Fundraising Accomplishments and Events

• Left-over Lyndon gear from sold at the TT event and raised an additional $184
• Square 1 art was also a success allowing additional funds raised of $506

Bylaws: PTA Bylaws update have been presented and approved.

* The bylaws are based on MA PTA bylaws and have been adapted for Lyndon PTA use. It is posted on the PTA Website for comments and review by the members. All enquiries to be directed to patricklyndonpta@gmail.com .

Updates Across the Lyndon

PTA

• Membership: There are PTA Member discounts available via the National PTA website
• Membership historical comparison. Current membership numbers reviewed. Encouraged participation in PTA activities. Encouraged faculty PTA membership and participation.
• Traffic Safety: PTA continuing to work on updating signage, curbs for wheelchair. Continued encouragement for parents to follow the stop, drop and go guidelines and help keep all children safe. Potential need for “Safety Brigade” to ensure safe drop-off/pick-up traffic
• Community Building:  Spring Cultural Fair

Fundraising Updates: Turkey Trot Chair-Carrie Greenway

TT successfully accomplished total net revenue of $17.5k There were a total of 15 business sponsors resulting in $8,350 350 raised. Race day revenue resulted in $3,610 and the Family Wall resulted in $3,635. An all-together successful event!

School Site Council (SSC) – Julie Ma:   SSC meeting was on the Exam School Process. Slide show should be set up on website. Nurse is in place (contract pending). New brand, new language, new lunch monitors. Brick work has been reported to BPS.

Citywide Parent Council (CPC) – Steve Lewis: Meeting covered BPS Covid procedures. Video link posted on FB page. 53% have opted in for testing district wide. District healthcare IT if exposed “close contact”. All those who are vaccinated are not considered to be “close contact”. Next meeting will be held 21 Dec @ 6pm.

Friends of the Lyndon (FOTL) – Not in attendance.  Working towards target in Spring.
